Love Summer Weather

Hey All,

Its summer and its super hot, hot, hot!

I have been off for a while, but I’m back with some fun summer dressing ideas.

We all know I like the alternative suit and better prices.

This one is all linen.  I put it together to look professional and be able to stay cool at the same time.

I’ll show it in full.

I am going to try a selfie I see frequently (but have never tried myself).

This is a full shot of linen pants and a linen blazer.

It was so inexpensive.

The pants were less than $25 from TJ MAXX, and the blazer I bought at a Gap outlet store for wait,

$12.00, I really mean that! The tank was $9.99 from H&M.

This gives you an idea of how to wear a suit when the weather is on the warm side.

Here’s a closer look at the pant:

So cute. Navy striped.

Could be worn together or mixed with other items.

I really love this next suit look, but for me at my age I wouldn’t do shorts.

With that said maybe you could. I wouldn’t rule it out for others.

(shop bop.com)

This is from a ShopBop website. It also looks cool and comfortable. I know some of you could rock this look.

Another take for the same pants but more casual:

Try pairing them with a Boho type casual shirt.

I bought this at H&M on sale for $12.99.  Could not pass up adding in some color!!

So again here’s some ideas for styling different looks from a staple piece such as these linen pants.

As always see what you can come up with.

HAPPY SHOPPING !!

Check into Spring!!

(from InStyle)

It’s April almost May and spring is officially here.

My favorite trend is the gingham print.

According to the ad from InStyle Magazine, many options are out!

From clothing to shoes and accessories, you can see various colors of gingham print.

Here’s some of my favorites.

Traditional black & white:

PANT:

( from Express)

SKIRTS

(from J. Crew)

These are shown with different color pieces.

Black and white is so neutral you can add any color to it!

Also pastel colors which are so spring/summer like.

SHOES:

(Tennis shoes from Tretorn, sandels from DSW)

TOPS:

( from Mango)

So, whether you like all over gingham or just one piece, there are great options to choose from.

Until next time

Happy Shopping!

The “White” Time of the Year!

Hi Everyone,

It’s Spring!! and time for breaking some rules.

Wearing white shoes after Labor Day and before Memorial Day used to

be the “thing not to do” but, those days are over!

I like that. It’s fun to do whatever you think feels trendy and fun.

On trend just in time for Easter:

White shoes

Bows

Buckles

(remember when we were kids in the 50’s and 60’s)

Lets start with flats

Prices can be enormously different for example: The first shoes were Net A Porter.

They rang in at over $900. Crazy right?

The laser cut flats I bought at Old Navy; guess what, $20.00.

 Kitten Heels

(with bows)

(Close up)

The striped mules are from the Popsugar website and can be purchased at ASOS.

I bought the Nine West style from TJ Maxx for only $39.99. The ASOS pair was a similar price.

So you see you can spend whatever your budget allows. But definitely not a fortune.

These white Mules with the bow are so adorable you can wear them with anything from pants to a skirt or dress.

(probably even shorts)!!!!

So go get your Easter bonnet on and some white bow shoes.

HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER HOLIDAY

New Year- New Ideas

Happy 2018!

Its a new year with some great new ideas.  I love that you don’t have to completely vacate your closet.

Every  style can be altered for a new look, even past ones.

This year I thought I would show ways to repurpose things you already have.

You can take things in your closet and update and change the look.

For example:

(from Forever 21)

(from Mango)

These trench coats are shown as a typical coat.

Lets’s show how you can add and repurpose a trench for more of a dress look.

Add a T-shirt, or even a turtleneck would be great

FYI I bought this coat at BeBe at least 8+ years ago!

There are so many other ideas!

**********************************************************************************************************

The Pantone color this year is ultraviolet.

I love purple shades and adding to that,  pastels are also big this year.

So, how about a pastel purple??

(H&M)

OR

(both from Target A New Day Collection)

Love it!

So you can see some ideas. I am sure you’ll have many of your own.

Let me know what you can come up with.

Until Next time

HAPPY SHOPPING!!

Holiday Fashion Time

It’s the Holidays!!

Who doesn’t love this time of year?  Time really went by fast.

TOO FAST!

Last year I attempted my (not too perfected crafty side), and decided to decorate my dress form,

(2016)

Not too bad for the first time! So this year I am trying again.

Thought I would change it up a bit.

So, you know I like to add accesories.

Of course anything red!

******************************************************************************************************************

Celebrating New Years Eve is different for everyone. You can dress up or be in casual but, festive attire.

I am showing casual which most people have already in their wardrobe.

Simple black skinny jeans and an over-sized blazer can be dressed up by adding a velvet tank.

Velvet has been a huge trend this season.

(Old Navy $5.00 UNBELIEVABLE)

This outfit is so inexpensive but looks great.

A shiny metallic tank would also look amazing.

Add some fun jewelry and there you have it!

So, heres to the New Year!

Hope ya’ll have a great one!!!

Trending Menswear

Hey all you fashionable ladies,

We are getting close to the year’s end. I still have a few trends to show.

Today is about Menswear.  It’s making a comeback.

It’s also really fun styling this idea.  I love mixing masculine with feminine.

Here’s some examples:

First, showing a gray menswear plaid.

I am wearing pants with an added white button down shirt.

But with this I decided to add a fun crop light-weight sweater with the same burgundy color as in the pant.

My dress form shows a similar print blazer over a plain black dress.  Great for work or any event.

Now the cool thing is I purchased these pants at Target! The “A New Day” collection.

Reasonably priced and can be mixed with many other options.

The blazer also moderately priced from Cato at less than $40.00

How could you possibly go wrong?

Here’s a closer look at the blazer:

——————————————————————————————-

In sticking with the suit trend I found another interesting possibility.

This time a more unconventional Menswear suit.

I really love this. Both pieces can be intermixed with other pants, skirts sweaters etc.

Here’s closer look at this print: a brownish mixed color.

H&M – Each piece $35.00

It’s a little different than the jacket and pant suit. I like “out of the box” looks.

Again you could wear the top with a plain color pant or skirt or visa versa.

Add some pearls or other jewelry or maybe a scarf.

Either way so many options!

Until next time

Fall Layering ideas

Hey All,

It’s that time of year.  As the weather gets cooler you can still keep some styles but, update them by adding layers.

For example:

I posted this last year (Feb. 2016) when styling a dress over pants first started trending.

So let’s go with that and add:

A sweater, scarf, or both to update and change up this look.  How fun.

Note same mini dress and staying in the same color.  Add a scarf for flair and you have a new look.

A nice touch for cooler temps.

I saw something similar to this on a blog site:

(credit to justthedesign.com)

It shows the same concept.

TIPS:

  • Add boots

  • Add a lightweight jacket

  • A cool hat!

See what else you can come up with!!

Until next time,

Summer 2 Fall

Hey Ya’ll…

It’s the end of summer. I know for some of us the weather is still very warm. That said, we can add pieces to summer styles to take them into Fall.

For example – Hooded sweatshirts. My new favorite!

Long or cropped in length it all works.

This lightweight navy hoodie from Old Navy  works well when the temps just begin to go down.

(on sale for $7.99)

(Nordstrom)

So many different ways to wear one.  Layered over a shirt like this one I saw in a Nordstrom ad.

My Version:

(Hoodie from Mango $39.00)

(White button-down shirt)

This tunic length hoodie can be worn  by itself or over something.

A younger me would have worn this!!

(H&M)

But now I would pick one of these options.

  • Leggings

  • Skinny jeans

  • Skirt

(Hoodie – H&M $24.99)

Or even layered under a denim jacket for cooler temperature times when you still don’t yet need a coat.

There are so many options to try.

Go see what you can come up with.

I would love to hear your ideas.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

Thoughts and Prayers for Houston TX.

As most of my readers know this blog is from the Houston area.

With that being said there will be no post for August in respect for the many people who are living through the flooding  from Hurricane Harvey which is devastating.

I don’t believe talking about fashion for fun is the right thing to do right now.

So, all my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Texas

( which is where Primed2style is based)

May everyone be OK and come through this safely.

Add Accessories

Hello Fashionistas,

I hope your summer is going well.

We have covered lots of different trends & styles but briefly touched on accessory wear.

So let’s do that.

Corset belts

Super big this summer.

I purchased this one at a shop in Rice Village.  I love going to Graceanna’s  for trendy new styles.

They usually have the items at a lower price; which is good because styles tend to go out relatively soon.

I picked this one up for $19.99

similar here

The belt cinches you in to give a defined waist.

It’s definitely slimming.

Try it with:

 Short summer dress

Add a hat

OR:

a Midi or Maxi dress.

Throw on a denim jacket.

You could wear any of these with sneakers, sandals, mules, or heels.

So many choices.

Now if you prefer you can find alternatives to a belt.

Say a corset top similar to this one @ H&M.

Or even a skirt also from H&M!

Super affordable and so so cute!

***********************************************************

Tassels

Jewelry with tassels are taking stage.

Colorful and fun you see them everywhere.

I love these new black ones that were a gift.

Here are also some I found at H&M !!

Similar here

I also saw some really bright color earrings at

Elaine Turner.

Until next time
